Training is very difficult to identify what needs are required. Two basic objectives that are usually defined is to improve the operation of a particular mechanical machine, control or process. This works well for learning the settings for electronic equipment or computer operations. The Original Equipment Manufactures design is taught and the settings and requirements can be taught.
Mechanical machines aren't as easy to develop training for. Often an equipment manufacture will provide you the opportunity to have in house training to set up the tolerances required for their machine. In reality this becomes a show and tell that a few of the maintenance personnel attend, and operator and process system requirements are not covered. This is developed as Power Point Computer based program. The knowledge requirements are then added into the presentation so that visual training takes place. This development style was chosen based on the documentation that mechanically inclined personnel are visual based learners.
